The First Equity Team
First Equity has been originating mortgages in the State of Michigan since 1995. We have built our business on the promise of integrity, full disclosure and fair pricing.
We are solution oriented and can often find ways to meet your mortgage needs in ways that other lenders may not. Applying for a mortgage can be a complex process. We work closely with our customers to ensure they understand the process and have all of their questions answered. We have built our family owned business on the loyalty of past customers who return to us when they need mortgage financing or when they have an opportunity to refer a friend or family member to First Equity.

Meet Our Loan Originators
Bob Yopko
Owner, Senior Loan Officer
Bob has been a licensed mortgage loan originator in the State of Michigan since 1993. Bob founded First Equity Residential Mortgage Inc in 1995. Bob is an alumni of the University of Michigan with an MBA in finance. Bob, and his wife Barbara, have three adult children and six grandchildren. Bob enjoys fishing, reading, and watching football.
Bob has extensive knowledge of all loan programs and regulations which allows him to offer you the best program and creative financing to help our clients achieve their goals of home ownership.

Aubree Shemwell
Loan Originator and Loan Production Manager
Aubree has worked for First Equity since 1993 as processor, closing coordinator, loan production manager and licensed loan originator. Aubree, and her husband Chris, have six children. Aubree enjoys reading, volunteering, baking and watching her boys’ sports teams compete.
Aubree works closely with real estate agents, title companies, underwriters, closers and borrowers to insure a smooth transaction for all parties.
